Fred Chereau
Co-Collaboration Manager and COO, MG Biotherapeutics
Vice President & General Manager, Genzyme

Frederic Chereau is the Co-Collaboration Manager and Chief Operating Officer of MG Biotherapeutics. In this role, Mr. Chereau oversees the operations of MG Biotherapeutics, including the clinical activities and the development of commercial activities.

Starting his Genzyme career in France, Frederic Chereau recently relocated to the United States as Senior Director Cardiovascular to oversee Genzyme’s cardiac cell therapy program and the cardiovascular business development efforts in Genzyme, and the MG Biotherapeutics joint venture.

Mr. Chereau joined Genzyme France in 1999 as a Product Manager of the Surgical Products' Division and in 2000 was appointed Marketing Manager of the European Cardiothoracic Business Unit. Prior to joining Genzyme, Mr. Chereau gained 6 years of experience in sales and marketing and held various positions at Hemotech, a French dialysis and blood purification company.

Mr. Chereau holds an MSc in Physics from Paris University, a Bachelors degree from the La Rochelle Business School, France and a MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau.

Maura Donovan, Ph.D.
Program Director – Research, MG Biotherapeutics
Senior Director of Biosciences R&D, Medtronic

Dr. Maura Donovan joined Medtronic in 1991 as a senior scientist in the polymer research group. Since then she has held various technical and managerial positions focused primarily on the interface between biological research and medical device development. Dr. Donovan holds B.A. degrees in chemistry and Russian from Macalester College and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Washington. She also completed post-doctoral training in genetics at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Donovan currently manages a group of scientists within Corporate Science & Technology focused on biosciences research at Medtronic and serves as MG Biotherapeutics Research Director. She was named a Medtronic Bakken Fellow in 2003.

Jeffrey Erb
Co-Collaboration Manager and CFO, MG Biotherapeutics
Director of Pricing and Contracts, Medtronic

Jeffrey Erb is the Co-Collaboration Manager and CFO of MG Biotherapeutics. In this role, Mr. Erb has responsibility for Finance, Business Development, Intellectual Property and Information Systems. He also serves as the Director of Pricing and Contracts for Medtronic's Cardiac Surgery business since 2006. Mr. Erb's responsibilities, in this capacity, include pricing strategy, price management, contract development and sales operations support. From 2002 through 2005, he worked in Medtronic's Corporate Development group. As a Director of Corporate Development, Mr. Erb was responsible for evaluating and executing corporate development opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, joint ventures, minority investments, technology licenses, and divestitures. Since 2003, he also serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Restoragen, Inc. a majority-owned, Medtronic portfolio company. Prior to working for Medtronic, Mr. Erb held various Finance positions for Lockheed Martin including the negotiation, launch and management of a joint venture. He earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Economics and Business.

Bruce Wentworth, Ph.D.
Director – Science, MG Biotherapeutics
Director of Research, Genzyme

Dr. Bruce Wentworth serves as MG Biotherapeutics Science Director. He attended Boston University (BA, ’76; MA ’80) and the University of Massachusetts Medical School Graduate Program in Worcester, Massachusetts (PhD ’87) where he sequenced and studied expression of the mouse preproinsulin genes. Subsequently Dr. Wentworth was a Fellow of the American Heart Association studying the mechanisms of muscle-specific gene expression at Harvard and Boston University Medical Schools. In 1991 he joined Biosurface Technology, Inc. a company devoted initially to the culture epidermal keratinocytes into cell sheets suitable for grafting burn victims. In 1994, Biosurface Technology, Inc. was acquired by Genzyme Corporation. Dr. Wentworth’s team analyzed various technology improvements to the skin product and later to the culture of autologous chondrocytes for treatment of sports injuries. Recently, he has been the co-leader of a team of scientists investigating cell and gene-based therapy techniques for repairing infarcted hearts and treating ischemic diseases.
